Video marketing strategist and social media influencer Ivan Ray shows his support for famed poet J. Ivy, who won the award for Best Spoken Poetry Album. Ivan Ray was on stage when poet J.Ivy eventually won the Best Spoken Poetry Album award at the 2023 Grammys for The Poet Who Sat By The Door.Xavier University of Chicago, Ivan Ray has been a member of the Grammy Award Recording Academy since 2017.
Ivan began his musical journey in the late 1990s, working in the broadcast industry while studying at the State University of Chicago. Ivan then did an internship at Clear Channel 107 5 WGCI and Gospel Radio 1390, where he met poet J. Ivy, who had just won the 2023 Grammy Award for Best Spoken Poetry Album. Ivan also did an internship at National Public Radio’s-WBEZ. After completing his internship, he was selected to be a producer at 107 5 WGCI Radio.

Ivan Ray followed suit and became a voice actor trained by Kathy Bosco of Big Shoulders Digital Video Productions. Ivan Ray was groomed by eight-time Grammy winner Malik Yusef of G.O.O.D. Music, in the project “2016 Bad Habits and Performance Poetry” for the position of Head of A & R Managed, implemented the album release process, updated versions of all required documents and was responsible for coordinating the project with other artists while conducting a nationwide team search for the project.
Through this relationship, Ivan Ray teamed up with another Chicago 2022 Los Angeles Grammy Award winner, music producer The Legendary Fya Man. While in Los Angeles for the 2023 Grammy Awards, Ivan met fellow Chicago-based wellness consultant and wellness advocate Shaquita Love of RX Organics.
Grammy Awards weekend can be stressful with all the events happening all over town. He wanted to make sure she managed stress and gotten a proper rest before the Grammy Show in Los Angeles.
Ivan currently works as a video marketing strategist at IRB Digital Media Inc. and works with Grammy nominated band John Hill as a brand manager in Chicago. He is also a major social media influencer in Chicago with a large Facebook presence and Instagram followers.
